12-6-2006 Winter Wonderland by George Garabedian

h1 December 6th, 2006

So you probably haven’t had enough of Tijuana Christmas music have you?  You have?!?!  Well, too bad, ’cause there’s lots of it out there.

This is by George Garabedian who did a lot of Herb Alpert inspired albums over the years.  And I’ve heard lots of Tijuana Christmas albums but I like some of these arrangements the best.  I don’t know that I can put my finger on why, but they seem just a little less kitschy to me.  Maybe it’s the imagery on the cover that is more subtle than some of the others out there (though maybe it’s a double entendre having to do with going to Mexico and getting gas).

Anyway, give a listen.

  1. I really appreciate the effort your making for the downloads but the service makes it very difficult for the average user to get the downloads unless they are willing to pay extra. I hope you can find a better service soon.

  2. This reminds me of the 60′s movie "The Great Race"..I have a collection of toy cars like the one on the Album cover you have featured.  They’re "Matchbox" cars my grandfather collected from "Filling it Up" at the local gas station. http://www.amazon.com/Great-Race-Music-Film-Score/dp/B00000JC1B
