12-1-2006 Deck The Halls by The Osmond Brothers

So here we begin the third annual ADVENTure In Carols and we continue the tradition of beginning with Deck The Halls (’cause we love all those Falalalala’s around here!)
This one is from the Osmond clan before little Donny (or Olive Marie–her real name) joined in the performances. Back in the early 60’s Alan, Wayne, Merrill and Jay were regulars on the Andy Williams show and various Disney projects.
They began as a barbershop quartet and you can really hear it in the tightness of the harmonies–they’re so sharp you could shave with them. It’s kind of a shame that their little siblings kind of stole the spotlight out from under them (Donny made his TV debut the same month that this album was released).
Take note of the little jazz breakdown at about the 1:08 mark. It’s a nice little punctuation….
