Liner Notes:

Since their introduction on the Dean Martin TV Show in the Spring of 1968, The Golddiggers have become nationally known television, concert, night club and recording stars. The response to their first TV appearance was so great that the girls became regulars on Dean’s show. In addition, for two years in a row they have hosted the Dean Martin summer replacement show, which is aptly called “Dean Martin presents The Golddiggers.”

Aside from their heavy television commitments, The Golddiggers have made extensive concert tours of the U.S. Including appearances at the country’s top night clubs and leading fairs. Last Christmas they were chosen to go on Bob Hope’s tour to entertain our troops in Vietnam. Most recently the girls recorded their debut album for Metromedia Records and were an overnight recording sensation.

Thus, in less than two years, The Golddiggers have captured the hearts of the American public. This their second album adds their lighthearted and warm touch to the spirit of Christmas and the effect is sparkling.

I picked this one up off of Ebay a few years ago simply because I dug the cover. And because I remembered watching the Dean Martin Show back in the old days….There is some suitably kitschy stuff on here. Check out their weird version of "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" that can’t be sure if it’s Baroque or Swing….
